How Can You Tell When A Politician Is Lying...?

...his lips move.

I reminded of that joke when I see the latest bid by the Government to tax the poor. Plans are afoot to raise the amount debtors have to pay in fines by up to 233%, yet the Ministry of Justice (sic) tells us that "no decisions have yet been made". Pull the other one, it has bells on it. If you want to know what Government plans are, just look out for these tell tale phrases:
"We have no plans to" and "No decision has been made."

At what point do these bozos not understand that when a person is in debt the main reason for them being in debt is that they have no money? It is a simple concept, but one that seems to have escaped ministers.

Contrast that with the treatment handed out to the banks. When they get into a little difficulty with their cash flow a blank cheque of money taken from the poor is handed over. Northen Rock employees are even getting a 10% bonus. Quite sickening really.

Here's another quote (paraphrasing): if you owe $10 it's your problem, if you owe $10bn it's everybody's problem.
