TMWRNR

There are times when I kick myself about stopping muckspReading. The 'replacement' sites don't seem to have grasped the essential essence of satire... that is it is meant to be funny. But it's no use complaining, I made my choice, I have to abide by it.

However, the This Morning with Richard Not Rik Show! is still providing plenty of laughs for the people of Reading. A handbags-at-dawn epic about who signed what petition when. Now now children, don't go telling tales to teacher.

Perhaps satire is dead when those who should be satirised make such a great fist of it themselves!

'replacement sites' - where exactly?

This is a little disappointing: http://tylersworldofreading.blogspot.com/ Standard Tory rant masquerading as humour. It isn't.

Well, it's closed now. He's packed up and gone home, The curse of muckspreading strikes again!

Wonder if that means the rumour that he is standing as a Tory candidate is true after all!

I guess we'll know when the lists are published. Time to archive his site!

Do you mean like he stood last time... and then slagged off his Tory colleagues?

Who is 'he' - apart from someone with a very distorted view of what W, Tyler was actually about, but we'll let that pass.

God forbid he gets elected. Running amok in County Hall scaring the staff. Oooooooh!

Anon 23.59 "County Hall"?? The only one I know is in London. Are you saying that "he" is looking to replace Boris? Quite ambitious plan...

Was: you did not do a bad job plugging "his"site. Obviously you had a peek. Be honest, not all is bad.The "magnificent 6.5" was hilarious!!

Are the Council offices not called county hall then? That's why my letters never get through.

Is is Watt anyway? I'm bursting to know!

Anon 23.59:
"God forbid he gets elected. Running amok in County Hall scaring the staff." Good God! someone aiming to replace the present incumbent..Well suppose you need one in every "County Hall" to keep the staff in check. Oops might need an "independent inquiry"

Tylers site just wasn't funny, however comparing it to the very witty muckspreading does have me in stitches. Sorry but bitter Tories just aren't very funny.

Never mind about all that, did you know Richard Stainthorp was standing down? Frit or what in Katesgrove?

Glenn: the way the present incumbents in local gov't (in Reading)and national gov't are ruling us ( note the word as opposed to govern us) would make anybody "bitter". Do you like you child to be born with a debt round his neck?? Could go on.. but one should save one's breath for more adequately equipped minds!-sigh..

Obviously it would be a Tory slanted site, but I had high hopes for it. It did start off with some genuinely funny things.

Come on Reading, it isn't that hard. Just read http://www.newsbiscuit.com/ to see how it's done.

I promise I won't complain if you change your mind about closing down MuckspReading

muckspreading just wasnt funny, painting the LD as hippies when many are tories. Tylers is however worse.

is better.
